FOR NORMAL SKIN.

Apple & Honey facepack.

Blend 100 g. of apple puree, 2 tablespoons of honey, 25 ml. of rosewater. If necessary thicken with a little fine oatmeal. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes.

Marigold, Wheatgerm & Honey.

Blend 3 tablespoons of wheatgerm, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 20 ml. of marigold extract to make a smooth paste. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes.

Elderflower, Oatmeal & Yoghurt.

Blend 5O g. of yoghourt, 1 tablespoons of honey, 3 tablespoons of oatmeal, and enough elderflower infusion (or diluted extract) to make a smooth paste. Apply and leave on for 20 minutes.

Cucumber, Egg & Almonds.

Blend I whole egg, 100 g. of fine oatmeal, 2 tablespoon finely ground almonds. Add a little orange blossom water if required to make a smooth paste. Leave on for 20 minutes.

Apple, Egg & Honey.

Core a ripe juicy apple (or use 100 g. of pulp and juice) then liquidise and blend with 2 teaspoons of honey, 1 egg yolk, 20 ml. of sunflower oil, and a few drops of lemon juice. If necessary thicken with potato or rice flour. Apply and leave for 15 minutes.

Peach, Lemon & Yoghurt.

1 mashed peach, 50 g of natural yoghourt, 50 g. of rice flour and 10 ml. of lemon juice. Apply and leave for 15 minutes. For a silkier feel to the skin, substitute almond or oatmeal for the rice flour.

FOR NORMAL TO SLIGHTLY DRY SKIN.

Apple, Honey & Lecithin.

Whisk an egg white, add 2 teaspoons of apple pulp, I teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of lecithin. Stir and whisk for a few seconds. Apply and leave on 15-20 minutes.

Apricot mask.

Blend; 10 ml. of apricot extract, (or 100 g. of apricot pulp), half a carton of natural yoghurt, 1 dessertspoon of finely ground almonds and I teaspoon of lecithin. Apply and leave on 15-20 minutes.

DEPRESSION
(Mild)

General Advice: Take regular exercise and use aromatherapy.
Nutritional Advice: Supplement the diet with Vitamin B complex or brewers' yeast.

PLANTS TO HELP EASE DEPRESSION.

Damiana. A good tonic for the nervous system. Make an infusion with 1-2 teaspoons of the dried herb in a cup of hot water, take 3 times daily.

Lemon Balm. Although traditionally prescribed for tiredness, lemon balm may also be helpful for 'low spirits.'  Infuse 1-2 teaspoons of the dried herb or a few bruised leaves in cup of hot water 3-4 times daily.

Panax Ginseng. Tablets/capsules are available at health food shops.

Lavender. Infuse 1-2 teaspoons of dried flowers in a cup of hot water 3 times daily.

Garden Mint. Infuse 2-3 fresh leaves in a cup of hot water and take 3 times daily.

Orange Blossom. Infuse 1-2 teaspoons of the dried blossoms in a cup of hot water and take 3 times daily.

Peppermint. Take 1-2 teaspoons of the dried leaves as an infusion, or a peppermint teabag 3 times a day; (ensure that the teapot is well covered to prevent loss of the essential oil).

Rosemary. Infuse 1 teaspoon of dried herb in a cup of hot water 3 times daily.
